The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (CCBOE) cordially invites you to a public meeting regarding the accessibility of the bilingual ballot used by Spanish-speaking and English-speaking voters in Cuyahoga County. The meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in the CCBOE Board Room, 4th floor located at 2925 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115.
Board Members Sandy McNair and Rob Frost along with Dr. Tom Sutton and Dr. Phillip David from Baldwin Wallace University’s Community Research Institute will be discussing a survey regarding the CCBOE current Hispanic outreach programs and bilingual communications. Some of the topics Dr. Sutton and Dr. David will be discussing for the study are: a single language ballot choice (English and Spanish) as an alternative to a bilingual ballot, impediments to voting gathered from Hispanic residents, outreach strategies to increase voter participation and whether other factors help or hinder voting access for Spanish-speaking voters.
It is important that we have your input regarding this project so we can continue to meet the needs of the Hispanic community. We look forward to meeting with you on October 23rd.
