Who can vote by mail? 
All Ohio voters whose registration information is up to date can vote by mail.

Why should I vote by mail? 
  • Vote in the comfort of your own home!
  • Avoid the lines at the polls on Election Day.
  • Take your time researching candidates and issues.
  • Absentee ballots are the first votes counted on Election Night!
How do I vote by mail? 
  1. Complete a Vote-by-Mail ballot application for the upcoming election.
  2. Once you have completed your application by providing all of the required information, print and sign it.
  3. Mail the application back to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.
  4. Wait to receive your ballot in the mail. 
    If you have questions about your Vote-by-Mail ballot request, you should call the Board of Elections at 216-443-VOTE (8683) or you can click here to track the status of your ballot request on our website at www.443vote.us.
  5. Return your voted ballot.
When is the deadline to vote by mail? 
  • Your application must be received by the Board of Elections by 12:00 p.m. on the Saturday before Election Day.
  • Your ballot must be received by the Board of Elections:
    • By 7:30 p.m. on Election Day if delivered in person; or
    • Postmarked by the post office by the day before Election Day and received by the Board of Elections no later than 10 days after the election if sent by U.S. Mail.

How do I vote using the Remote Ballot Marking System?

1. You can fill out the application online in PDF or HTML You must still print out, sign and send the application to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

2. Applications must be received by the Board of Elections no later than 12:00 p.m. on the Saturday before Election Day.  

    Mail the completed application to:

3. Watch for your secure email from the Board of Elections.  Your ballot will be emailed to you along with detailed instructions.  You will then be able to mark your ballot digitally using your device of choice.

4. Print your marked ballot and enclose it with your identification envelope/statement of voter and return it to the Board of Elections.   The Board of Elections will mail an identification envelope/statement of voter and return envelope to you to use for this purpose
